QUANTUM EFFECTS IN TWO-DIMENSIONAL ELECTRON SYSTEMS

The main directions of work and recent results:

1. Study of the kinetic properties of the two-dimensional hole gas in Si1-xGex quantum wells with different compositions. The quantum oscillation (Shubnikov-de Haas oscillations) and quantum interferential effects (weak localization, hole-hole and spin-orbit interaction) are being studied [1, 4-5].
2. Investigation of the main transport characteristics of complex low-dimensional systems based on carbon nanotubes (CNTs) and graphite. Researching of the possible effect of the CNT modifications to their transport properties. Quantum corrections to conductivity in the samples were revealed and analyzed [2]. For samples based on modified graphite, the asymmetric magnetoresistance effect was found and explained [3].
3. Studying of the kinetic properties of the two-dimensional electron gas in thin bismuth films at low temperatures (4.2 K) in perpendicular and parallel magnetic fields.
