Summary:

Temperature- and field-dependences of the magnetic behaviour of Ni-Fe layered double hydroxides (LDH) with the Ni/Fe ratio of 2 and 3 will be studied. The low-temperature magnetic behavior of the mentioned LDH is very different. Based on previous experiments and modelling, we think that the differences in the magnetic behaviour of Ni2Fe and Ni3FeLDH LDH originate from the clusters in the former, which are suggested to be the spatial ranges with the ideal honeycomb-like cation orderings. We intend to employ XAS/XMCD technique to elucidate the intricate mechanism behind these features and thereby to contribute to the development of novel magnetic LDH-based materials.
