Sviatoslav S. Sokolov – Head of Department, Doctor of Physics and Mathematics
He graduated from the Faculty of Physics of Kharkov State University in 1975.
Since 1975, he has been working at the Institute for Low Temperature Physics and Engineering of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, where he defended his Candidate's thesis (1984) and Doctoral thesis (2005), he has the scientific title of Senior Researcher (2002).
In 1998 – 2002 worked, as visiting professor at Physical Department of the Federal University of São Carlos, Brazil
Winner of the B.I. Verkin Prize of NAS of Ukraine (2010)
He is the author and co-author of more than 120 scientific papers and inventions.
His research interests are in the field of physics of transport and collective properties of low-dimensional charged systems, hydrodynamics and thermodynamic properties of stratified solutions of helium isotopes in a limited geometry.
