Universal behavior of low-temperature heat capacity of acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene thermoplastic polymer and its composite with graphene oxide

Summary: The low-temperature dependence of the heat capacity of ABS plastic and the influence of structural features were investigated. In particular, the influence of long-range structure disorder on the appearance of possible anomalies in its temperature dependence in the area of the existence of the Boson peak anomaly was found. It was found that for ABS polymer, as well as for a lot of other substances with crystalline and amorphous nature, the appearance of the anomaly of the Boson peak in the heat capacity has a universal character, and the value and position of the maximum are determined by the normalized dimensionless function Δ*(T) vs. normalized temperature T/Tmax that proposed in this study
