Main research area:
Quantum transport in low-dimensional electron systems with extremely strong internal interactions, and surface phenomena in quantum liquids.
- Two-dimensional (2D) Coulomb liquids and the Wigner solid formed on the free surface of liquid helium.
- Microwave-induced magnetoconductivity oscillations, the negative conductivity effect, and zero resistance states.
- Quasiparticle reflection from the surface of liquid 3He and its dilute solution in liquid 4He.
Main achivements:
- The unconventional Hall Effect in 2D electron liquids, and dynamics of highly correlated electrons strongly coupled with medium excitations.
- Wigner solid mobility on the surface of normal and superfluid 3He.
- The inter-subband mechanism of microwave-induced conductivity oscillations (MICO); absolute negative conductivity; density domains in a photo-excited 2D electron gas.
- Anomalous quasiparticle reflection from the surface of a 3He-4He solution.
- Low frequency edge waves in a strongly correlated 2D electron liquid under a magnetic field.
- Nonlinear dynamics of a 2D Wigner solid on superfluid 4He.
- Two-ripplon mechanism of energy relaxation in a 2D electron gas on liquid helium.
